Federal Contracting

Federal construction is governed separately from Idaho public works. The Idaho Public Works Contractor License applies to contracts with the State of Idaho and its political subdivisions; it does not govern federally funded projects, which require SAM.gov registration and a Unique Entity ID.

Acquisition thresholds.

Dollar figures are adjusted periodically and are confirmed against the current FAR rather than reproduced here.

Micro-purchase threshold — constructionFAR 2.101
Construction subject to Davis-Bacon carries a lower micro-purchase threshold than general supplies.
Simplified acquisition thresholdFAR 2.101
Below this, agencies may use simplified procedures. This is the realistic entry band for a firm without past performance.
Davis-Bacon applicability40 U.S.C. 3141
Prevailing wage determinations apply to federally funded construction above the statutory threshold. Wage determinations are published per county and construction type.

Route to award

Subcontracting to federal primes.

Craton bids self-performed scopes to prime contractors on federal construction. Federal work sits outside Idaho public works licensing and turns instead on SAM.gov registration, a Unique Entity ID, and Davis-Bacon wage determination compliance.

Bid-time documentation is issued from the credentials listed on the Qualifications page. State and local procurement is covered on the Contracting page.
